His Desperate Plea
“I just want to see her one last time. Even if it’s just her ashes—it doesn’t matter. I’m begging you.”
Watching his anguish, I frowned and looked toward Ella.
“Just let him see me. End his torment and let me go,” I pleaded silently.
I didn’t want to linger around him any longer.
During his three days of detention, it felt as though I had never truly known him.
In just two years, life had reduced him to this pitiful state.
The once gentle and refined man had vanished, replaced by someone volatile and easily enraged.
