He watched her to age into a beautiful girl. he watched her from far away! The devil inside of him couldn't wait anymore and was always planning to cage her , possess the angel. So he went with the plan to bring her in his dark cage and never let her go!"

She didn’t let me pull away. “The Devil is one of a kind,” she whispered. “Do you understand what that means?” I shook my head once. Barely. She pressed a kiss to my cheek, soft and dry. “It means remember yourself,” she said, pulling back just enough to meet my eyes again. “So you don’t drown in him.” The words hit like a prophecy.

“You know I could make all this go away. I can make the charges disappear, but I’m going to need something from you first.” I knew what it was before he even said it. “Sign the papers,” he leaned down to tuck a strand of hair from my face while maintaining eye contact with me. “And then disappear from my life, forever.” He said it with so much certainty that I felt like he had driven a stake clean through my heart, impaling me with his words. I blinked rapidly, trying to make sense of it all before it finally settled in my head. Curtis Blackwood was the fucking devil.

His smirk faltered, disbelief flashing in his eyes before his body crumpled to the ground. Damian exhaled, his grip on his gun tightening. His hands were steady. His choice had been made. I reached for him, fingers lacing through his. "Let’s finish this." He squeezed my hand. "Together." And then, we burned the enemy’s empire to the ground. --- As we moved deeper into the enemy’s stronghold, the corridors twisted into a maze of death and destruction. The sounds of gunfire and shouts echoed through the halls, but nothing compared to the silence that fell when we reached the central chamber.

While he found himself falling into it, a hand quickly gripped around his hard and tight. Gently, that same hand pulled him up, straight back to his balance. And it was the devil herself.
