I asked. Max shrugged. “How the hell should I know?” I was surprised by his snappy tone. Before I could throw out a smart retort, a small uproar erupted in the party crowd. Looking out, I saw the Devils entering the party. They were all wearing black, their jackets, smoking, carrying their guns. They were led by Dexter who stood at the center of it, enjoying the attention on him. “Well, well, well, isn’t this something? Chadwick, how could you throw a party and not invite your old friend!” he said, addressing Mr. Chadwick.

Cheques flew all around the room, everyone signing up for a piece of the pie. The hookers of Pandemonium enjoyed watching this night the most. They knew that by the time the Angels were done, it would truly be demon time. All of the original Angels finished presenting, and groans of protest filled the room because they thought it was over. The devil slid into the room then after closing a deal, and sat next to Lev. “Your girls are killing it tonight!” Lev, inching closer to a drunken state, screamed into his face. His hot breath of alcohol made Luca wheeze and recline back.

“I’m sure. Go home. Say hi to Jodie for me.” Paul smiled and gave her a lazy salute. “Sure thing. See you in the morning, boss.” “Night.” As the door clicked shut behind him, Elsie returned her focus to the screen, typing into the search bar: Devil’s mirror. Dozens of irrelevant results flooded the screen—Devil’s Advocate, Devil’s Game, Devil’s Playhouse. She muttered, “No, no… not Devil’s Advocate. I’m surprised p**n didn’t pop up.” Her eyes lit up. “Ah—finally.”

The next day Wolf Connor, President of The Road Devils MC, had spent most of his adult life making decisions that nobody else wanted to make. That was the burden of leadership, of course, and it was one he had accepted long ago. The Road Devils didn't elect presidents through popularity contests or charisma or who could drink the most whiskey without falling over. They chose men who could look at a terrible situation, strip away everything emotional and complicated about it, and decide what happened next. Unfortunately, this particular terrible situation with the fucking Highway Hellions refused to be anything but uncomplicated.

Now, I am all ready to go. Descending down the long flight of stairs carefully because I am holding Bambi in my arms, I hear some voices. Strangely familiar voices, and as I hear them closely, I gasp silently. The voice that intrudes my night's sleep, the one that is the cause of my neverending nightmares. Devin a.k.a. The Devil. No, no, no! What is he doing here this soon? No, he can't see me! He can't catch me, again.

“Like I said earlier, they could kill hundreds of people per day, so it’s likely that the devil you fought that night wasn’t one of the ancient devils.” “Hhhmmm, yes, it might be true, but how about the two other ancient devils?” Aimer and Aahva exchanges their glances, their eyes unchanged and still the same. Aimer nods. They both sit back on the sofa casually. And Aimer speaks up.
