I said, stepping over the blue tape to get to my desk. "Maybe," she muttered. She paused, sniffing the air. "Does he smoke? Or... burn things?" "What?" I froze. "He smells weird," Chloe said, wrinkling her nose. "Like... campfire and copper. And something else. Like a wet dog." My heart skipped a beat. Daxon smelled like ozone and wolf.
