In the end, Meredith and George decided to arrange a meeting with the police detective assigned to Helena’s case, Detective Sergio. He was a tall, lean man with clean-cut hazelnut hair. Alice could make out the wrinkles in his forehead and cheeks as he settled himself in front of her. She watched the man remove his black coat and placed it on the table before taking out a medium-sized notepad and a pen. Alice loved comic books about detectives. Her favorite was James Gordon; he was Batman’s acquaintance and a respectable captain of the Gotham City Police Department. Whenever she saw a detective, she could not help but be mesmerized by their badges and work.

The detective quickly dressed herself and left the room, embarrassed. So this is how you investigate, father? You just like me, the old me, living a life as a person who wants nothing but to have sex. " Madam Agatha confronts her father. "What the fuck are you doing here? Did you see I'm busy? " The Chief rages at her, which causes their conversation to heat up. "Busy? Fucking one of your employees?Fool me not, Mr. Gergor Brookes. By the way, I just want you to pay a visit so I can ask you one simple question. What was a single piece of evidence that you told the press conference about? "

Who are they? The older man smiles politely. “Hello, my name is Detective Adams, and this is Detective Wilde.” He gestures to the bearded man beside him. “My officer tells me you’re Elizabeth Bell.” I nod. “We’ve been in charge of the investigation since you first disappeared,” he continues, watching me closely. “Can you please follow us?” I hesitate for only a second before standing and walking with them. I remind myself to move with confidence, to act as though I have nothing to hide.

Ethan slowly removed the security chain and let the detective inside. The detective carried a weathered leather folder tucked beneath his arm. "I shouldn't even have this," he admitted. "But if I hand it over through official channels, it'll disappear." He placed the folder on the coffee table. "I think someone inside the department is protecting Ryan." Claire's face hardened. "A mole." He nodded. "I've been investigating financial crimes for twelve years." He looked directly at me. "This case is different." "How?" "Because every witness either disappears..." He opened the folder.

"Tell me. What were the results of your investigation with the private detective as I suggested?" "......" "Everyone was clean, right?" No answer came. Derek had his guard up like a hedgehog. Eugene continued undeterred. "I heard those results too. And do you know what I thought? Probably the same thing you did: 'Then who among the New York office agents was omitted from the investigation?'" Derek's shoulders tensed. He was clearly unsettled. "I could think of two people who might have been omitted: Derek Davidson and Walter Olson." "......"

“Detective Roland Hale?” “He reopened your file three days ago. Off the record. No authorization.” Her lips curved faintly. “Braver than I thought.” “He’s not clean,” Damien added. “But he’s not owned either.” “Good,” Vanessa said. “I don’t need loyal. I need curious.” She returned to the console and activated another screen. The penthouse lights dimmed further as data maps filled the walls. “From this point on,” she said, voice even, “we assume every silence is deliberate. Every coincidence is manufactured.”

-TRISTAN- When the afternoon comes to a brittle close, Detective Argen returns with the new lead: the shell company had a phone number listed—prepaid burner, routed through a series of VOIP accounts. Someone nagged a point into the system and had used a courier service to pick up the chemicals. The forensics hadn’t established prints on the canister that were usable, but they matched a gait profile—tall, left-handed. Left-handed—small, useful detail. The cloak of anonymity thins when the hunter has patience.
