Romans & histoires Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency

94 Lilian Once I was in my car, I pulled out my phone and quickly searched for the best private detective agency in town. After a few rings, a calm, professional voice answered. “Good afternoon, Zenith Investigations. How can we assist you today?” “Hi, this is Dr. Lilian Grey,” I said, trying to keep my voice steady. “I need to hire a private detective to investigate someone. It’s urgent.” “Certainly, Dr. Grey,” the receptionist replied smoothly. “May I ask for some details? Who is the subject of the investigation, and what exactly are you looking for?”

Giovanni POV: She had the file her mother kept on her phone, she had taken photos of everything to keep it safe. There was only one lead for us, the name of the agency. The Hellmans Private investigators had closed ten years ago with no website and no cell phone. I had to go into an old Yellow Pages to find the address. It was quite shocking to see a business so under wraps. No wonder it went out of business.

Eric said calmly, "The vial contains parasite eggs. So, that means Cole is the one behind it." Andrew nodded. "Pretty much. Still, I didn't expect to find a martial artist dealing in parasites in a little town like Verhampton Valley." Dirk looked up hopefully. "Sir, I've told you everything I know. Can I go now?" Andrew shook his head. "Nope. You're going to die here." Dirk's vision went black, and he immediately dropped to his knees, nearly soiling himself. He could already tell that Andrew was definitely not an ordinary person.

Damien researched agencies with the thoroughness he brought to everything. Lennon made calls. Within three weeks they had identified a high-end discreet agency that had been recommended through three separate trusted contacts. The consultation was on a Wednesday afternoon. The office was what the agency was discreet. No signage on the door. A waiting room that was comfortable without being excessive. A consultant who was professional in the specific way of someone who dealt with sensitive situations involving people with complicated lives. Her name was Dr Reyes. She looked at them both when they sat down. She had a folder, she had been briefed.

“Detective came by the clinic yesterday asking questions, about the bodies found in the woods, about gang violence, about unusual injuries Jenny’s been treating.” Sage took the card. Detective Sarah Chen. Seattle PD. Homicide division. “What did Jenny tell her?” Sage asked. “Nothing useful. But this detective is smart. She’s connecting dots.” Cole looked worried. “She knows something’s not right, she just doesn’t know what yet.” “We have handled human attention before,” Kade said. “Not like this, she got a warrant. Searched the clinic. Took copies of medical records.” Cole lowered his voice. “She saw wolfsbane poisoning cases. Silver bullet wounds that healed wrong. She is asking experts to

Never. Across the city, Christian stepped into Harper Global’s private intelligence department. Unlike the sleek executive offices upstairs, this section of the building wasn’t listed on any company directory. Only a handful of people even knew it existed. Large digital screens covered the walls, displaying live financial transactions, satellite maps, security footage, and hundreds of names scrolling through encrypted databases. The lead investigator approached him at once. “We found something.” Christian stopped. “What is it?” The investigator handed him a thin file. “Angela’s driver. The one who worked for her for six years.”

Dylan smiled back at me, his eyes filled with quiet affection, and without saying another word, he gently kissed my forehead before we followed Martha toward the corridor. The temporary communications station had been established inside the archive chamber, where investigators had transformed one corner of the room into a secure command center filled with laptops, encrypted satellite equipment, and neatly organized evidence containers. Detective Morris looked up as we entered and immediately offered us an encouraging smile before stepping away from one of the monitors. The tension that had defined his expression throughout the investigation had finally eased, replaced by the quiet satisfacti

The search left me drained yet more determined. After leaving Hart Global, I headed straight to the police station. Detective Collins welcomed me into his office with a nod, his expression professional but kind. I placed the photograph before him and explained how I had recognized the company logo. Collins immediately placed it into an evidence bag. “We’ll have this examined,” he said. “If that logo appears in old financial records, it could tell us who was connected to your father.” I nodded, clinging to that sliver of hope. “I just hope we’re finally getting somewhere.”
