Then, mid-bite, Mirabel lit up. "Oh, and you know, Grandma, Daddy's a real hero! He saves Mommy from dinosaurs every night when she screams super loud—'Oh, Howard!' like this!" Charlotte's face turned beet red, fork frozen mid-air, mortified. "M-Mirabel!" Howard's eyes widened; he clapped a hand over her mouth gently, chuckling nervously. That makes them descendants of the gods themselves.
