Dinner remains uneventful after that and when I go to bed later that night, my hope that Val will overcome her trauma, seems to grow. Emilio keeps telling her to use her indoor voice and I can’t help the laugh that bubbles out of me when he is ignored. His frustration somehow amuses me.
