Percy says, steady and sure. Alcina stares. “Just a bit of a greenhorn, still,” Percy shrugs. “Like a duckling, just learning how to fly.” Alcina flushes, bristling slightly at the reference to Darla’s insufferable nickname for her. Percy laughs at her and turns to walk back to the castle, hands tucked into his pockets. “Um,” Alcina calls. Percy doesn’t turn, but he does pause, head tilted to the side.

She sent Percy a text, and to her surprise, not even five minutes later, he eagerly came with a backpack full of food. Since he worked at the Volmart warehouse, he was used to buying discounted goods for himself. Naturally, he had some stockpiled at home. Just one word from Diana, and he practically sprinted over, carefully picking out the best items to bring her. He even thumped his chest and swore, "Diana, whatever you want me to do, just say the word. You know that I'd do anything for you!" Diana gave him a rare, sweet smile. "Thank you, Percy. You're so good to me."
