“He’s wrong about me being vulnerable,” I reply coldly.
The conversation in the meeting room shifts to logistics. They are discussing supply routes, key contacts in the Dominican Republic and potential challenges. I take it all in, my mind already racing ahead.
“This isn’t worth our time,” Keith says after a while, leaning back in his chair. “We’ve heard this all before—ambitious plans, empty threats.”
“Not entirely,” I reply, my voice low. “The Dominican Republic is a small piece, but it’s a useful one. We have our men there. I’ll make sure they know about Marcellus’ little scheme.”
