The Cold Duke and the Modern Maiden
Mrs Shaw frowned at the Duke.
“Has she woken up yet?” Duke Kensington asked again.
“Not yet, Your Grace.” Lily said, suddenly feeling sad.
“Leave us.” The Duke said while walking over to sit on the bed, next to Lady Melissa.
This time, urged by Mrs Shaw on the side, Sir Andrew spoke up tactfully.
“Your Grace. We do not dare. I hope you’d understand.”
Duke Kensington’s gaze darkened when he heard this.
Unaccustomed to his orders being disobeyed, he looked at Sir Andrew coldly and said, “I shall bear the consequences. Leave.”
