My Best Friend's Father
We slip out, heading through the hallways to the dining room.
“I’ll tell J we’re leaving.” I nod as she leads me to Jameis and his wife, dancing.
“You two made up!” his wife exclaims as we approach. They stop and meet us halfway.
“Just letting you know we’re heading out,” Brandi says.
“You’re leaving me, P? Just ‘cause your boyfriend showed up?” Jameis clutches his chest dramatically.
“Didn’t you ditch me for your wife?” He chuckles and hugs her. I clench my fists, fighting the urge to overreact, though their bond irks me even if they’re just friends.
