Does The Cat Die Novels & Stories

Gods, these questions are giving me a headache and I’m dead, I’m not supposed to feel pain. I shut my eyes and the screen pops up again; this time I actually groan because I just know it will be something even more fucked up than what I’ve seen. When Caterina speaks, my heart shatters to dust. “I’m going to die soon, Kai.” My head snaps up so quickly that I nearly give myself whiplash. They’re sitting in a bedroom; Cat looks like she’s in her late forties, while Kai should be pushing sixty and yet looking as young as her. Her eyes are glistening with unshed tears as Kai holds her hand.

Cats died and there wasn't a damn thing I could do about it in my fucked up life. An hour later, I lay down with Bitsyone arm under her pillow and my other across her small body resting my hand on Don Gato. His small chest continued to rise and fall. I needed him to die by morning. Bitsy didn't need to go through this any longer. I cried quietly so Jon couldn't hear. I'd seen Jon's eyes. He knew the same thing I did. It sucked to be poor. *** "He's still alive, Jaycee. Can we take him to the doctor?"

He took to heart what his mother reminded them often - to always be kind to all - humans, dogs, and cats, too. He walked towards a mausoleum with steel bars as door. The gap between the bars were too small for big dogs to get in and so he decided he would stay there for a while. He could still hear dogs fighting and growling. He saw some cats and dogs running obviously afraid to get involved. “Poor Cathy and Kitty. They died right away from the bite.” Polly heard the cats said as they ran. “Benny is not going to come out of that place alive. That female dog is vicious!” the dogs shouted to the other dogs looking from the entrance.

Ben asks, and I want to know the same thing because I don’t remember. “She got hit by a car,” my dad says, and I feel my heart break. I don’t remember that at all. “It was awful,” Mom says, shaking her head. “You were beside yourself, Isla, crying so hard.” “Your nanny had put the cat in a box on a pillow,” Dad explains, “and we were going to have a funeral for her. We’d had the pack healers try to help her, but she was dead. Not bloody and gross, but dead nonetheless. So… when the nanny brought her in for you to say goodbye, you held the box and cried and cried.”
