Even after death, my biggest worry had been the coming zombie wave and the future of humanity. Sean looked at Savannah for a long time, his expression unreadable. At long last, he nodded in agreement. He understood how much this meant. I stayed and watched the entire testing process. I watched as Savannah lost her mind and became a monster. I watched as the scientists forced different drugs down her throat day after day. The zombie wave grew closer, and tension gripped the entire safe zone. And now, on this day, they were testing the very last compound. If this one failed, mankind would have to consider evacuating and searching for a new safe zone.

I could only nod mutely, my mind screaming one single, coherent thought. I am so utterly, completely, and professionally doomed.

"I can't believe that you two had to decide my destiny!" I yelled. I felt sorry for myself for dealing with devils like the twins. Because of them, I was fated to dooom. My destiny was decided and I lost the woman I loved. "You two are crazy!"

The ocean in the distance is crashing with such unreal waves that all the canoes have been swallowed by its rage. And the sky is suddenly being covered by dark clouds, casting shadows of darkness. The ominous feeling is one that can’t be shaken, even by these powerful wolves. Their eyes are widening at the imbalance. “What’s happening, Chester?” “My Lord, it’s a curse.” Kade snaps his eyes toward Chester. “The crops are suddenly dead. The water has dried. All foods have rotten. It’s Doomsday.” He finishes with an alarm in his tone.

Was I doomed to never find a mate after that human? Goddammit! That damn human has destroyed me.

She dragged my body through the floor, pulled me back into the nightmare and shut the door behind me. “Who are you?” I gagged while stuttering. She crouched down and pinned her hand on my forehead. “Your doom.” Her sweet yet mocking voice rang in my ears, as life slipped from me and the world burned into darkness.

Thinking about Isabella's last words, Avery couldn't help but to admit to the fact that her Doom was near her and it was nobody else than the person in front of her.
