Unrestrained. I crashed into a wall, brick crumbling around me. Through dazed eyes, I saw Silas charging at the doppelganger, makeshift weapon raised. She batted him aside without even looking, sending him sprawling across the cobblestones. "Stop!" I pushed off from the ruined wall, my own corrupted arm raised defensively. "Who are you? What do you want?" The doppelganger paused, head cocked in mocking consideration. "I told you. I'm you." She gestured to her corrupted form, identical to mine in every detail. "The version of you that embraces what we are. What we've become."

What no one in the room could have ever suspected was that the woman in Alaric’s arms wasn’t Elona at all. The real Elona, unconscious and unaware, was nowhere to be found. In her place was an exact replica, a woman whose appearance was an uncanny match to Elona’s. She was a doppelganger, sent to deceive and manipulate, her mind just as skilled at mimicking Elona’s as her face. Alaric continued to stroke her hair, unaware of the subtle shift in her movements. Every now and then, the doppelganger would look up at him with a knowing glint in her eyes, a slight, almost imperceptible smirk tugging at the corner of her lips.

So, he turned around to see who it was, and he was surprised to see who it was. "Hello, Me." His doppelganger was standing at his front. The cheeky smirk on his lips made him seem like he was up to no good. Actually, he was. "What do you want?" Dominus asked, he knew the doppelganger was definitely up to no good. He knew it would be hard getting him back on the ice because right now he has a bigger problem at hand. "Oh, nothing. I just thought you'd like to know where I'm keeping the Ginnak's girl. She looks exactly like Annabelle, you know,"

They sighed, and Mandy stepped back, leaving only Ember to explain what it all meant. ‘The thing is, there is always a duplicate of a witch. Some duplicates are not greedy and rarely cause havoc. They only show up when needed. But a few others, like you, have troublesome duplicates. The scholars call them doppelgänger. They will stop at nothing to make your life miserable.” Ember explained. Clarissa gasped in shock. She didn’t want her life to be miserable. She was only trying to live her life these days, and she had never hurt someone intentionally before. So, why should she have a duplicate that would frustrate her very existence?

the doppelgänger said smoothly. Dorian took a step back. “Okay, yeah, I hate this.” Cassian shifted protectively in front of Lena. “Who the hell are you?” The other Lena’s golden eyes gleamed. “I told you. I’m her.” She tilted her head. “Or rather, what she’s meant to become.” Lena’s hands clenched. “No.” The doppelgänger’s smile widened. “Yes.” And then, with a wave of her hand, the shadows rose—swallowing everything whole.

“The doppelganger is an exact double of a person. They’re an extension of the person, but there’s a difference. Here, read this,” Luella said as she pushed the open book in front of Dennis and pointed to a paragraph. “I was never good at explaining things. I’d make a horrible teacher.” Dennis focused on the words. “A ghostly double of a living person, especially one that haunts its fleshly counterpart,” he read.

Do you believe in that?” Lisa’s voice became more alert, she looked at Myra with disdain as if she felt that Myra was saying something extremely absurd. Lisa had heard about doppelganger phenomenon before, but she didn’t believe in this matter. To Lisa, this was an extremely ridiculous phenomenon, she didn’t believe that two people who looked alike but weren’t related by blood existed in this world.

“What sacrifice?” “The one you haven’t learned about yet,” the raven said. “The one that will be demanded at the threshold. The reason we’re having this conversation.” “Speak plainly,” Lyanna interjected. “Please. We don’t have much time.” The raven’s many eyes swiveled to her. “The Doppelganger speaks. The one who died in seven timelines and lived in nine. The one who is and isn’t the mate. Tell me, mirror walker, do you know why you exist?”

Camilla's POV “What! Why do you look like me?” a gasp escaped my mouth looking at the lady, who looked exactly like me, in front of me. “That should be my question, why do you look like me, woman?” the lady questioned, and my eyes widened in surprise when I understood what was going on. A doppelganger? A doppelganger was the best bet because the lady in front of me looked so much like me, and my mind went back to what happened this early morning before I encountered this scenario.
