Zuck "What?" I asked snarling over the phone. I can't help but feel annoyed with Rex for interrupting my good slumber for this useless call. "The Maxwell's are refusing to pay their debt again which is already due for two months," Rex replied to me on the other line and my brows immediately furrowed upon hearing his sentiment. ◆◆◆ Chapter 2 ◆◆◆ I spent the entire weekend hiding in my apartment, ignoring texts from classmates who suddenly found me fascinating for all the wrong reasons. The humiliation replayed on loop as my own words, my deepest, most depraved fantasies, were read aloud in front of everyone while Darian Rho watched with those unreadable dark eyes that seemed to strip me bare without ever touching me. Monday morning, I discovered my diary was missing. Tuesday afternoon, the first text arrived from an unknown number: “Page 23. The elevator fantasy. Creative use of the emergency stop button.”

Instead, avoiding the question, I volunteered to help her look for it. “I may just take you up on that,” she replied. I couldn’t wait to ditch Lisa and see what transpired.

I just move to the couch and sit there while I wait to be fed. I'm wandering on my phone when suddenly I feel something next to me, like a breeze. When I turn around, I see Diory next to me and I let out a little gasp of surprise because I didn't know she was here. How is she so quiet? "Hey... girl," I mutter, uncomfortable. Diory is looking at me with something I can't quite identify in her blue eyes, "What's up?" "I know things," she mumbles almost without blinking and I can't do anything but stare at her silently not knowing what the hell to say. Seriously all the people in this family are crazy, "I know a lot of things."

I must admit taking a mental health day and just being with them all day is very tempting. “Fine. Do you have spare toothbrushes? As much as Forrest and I enjoy the taste of you on our tongues, doubt it’s a good idea to go to school with pussy on our breaths,” Darius questioned. I blushed again, remembering how good it felt to have each of them with their faces between my legs.

I believed every word he said yet was was still not fully convinced. I slowly nodded my head. “I need to go change.” I clicked the door open and walked right out. I climbed up the stairs and went up into my room. I changed into pink shorts and a white top then resumed into bed. I started to scroll through my phone and got a text message notification from Diana. I instantly opened it up and it was a link with a message right below it which read “you have to be in the school app, it is where all the tea is.”

Beyond it sunlight. Trees. A campus courtyard. People laughing. Her breath hitched. It was Brightmore University. Her freshman year. She stumbled closer to the glass, eyes wide. “No… this this can’t be” Adam stepped beside her, his reflection in the glass overlapping hers. “Level Two isn’t about code. It’s about memory. The things you thought you escaped? You never did. You only buried them.”

Darius' office is located just by the stairs on the 2nd floor on the way to the boy’s bedroom, which is at the end of the west hallway. Damon got to the room, its door opened a jar, he knocked. “Enter!” Darius' voice said from inside. Damon went in. He found Darius sitting at a big chair behind an ornate wooden desk, busy looking at something on his laptop. The room's light was very dim coming from two lamps on each corner behind Darius’s big chair, the walls the same as the first floor are covered with bookshelves.

I hung up the phone and forced myself to calm down, my fingers trembling as I slid the mouse across the pad. Aside from the wallpaper, the desktop was almost too clean, with just a single folder named "My Treasure" saved. Zane Lockhart had once made me a folder like that, too. It was filled with photos of us growing up together. My heart hammered against my ribs as an absurd thought exploded in my head. Was he having an affair? The thought barely lasted a second in my mind before I crushed it. I knew that even if every other man in the world cheated, Zane would be the only exception.
