The metallic taste of blood filled her mouth.
“That filthy mouth doesn’t touch me!” she spat, her voice raw with hatred, her eyes blazing in defiance.
He felt the bite and, instead of retreating, smiled crookedly, provoked.
Blood trickled from the corner of his mouth, but he didn’t seem to care.
“So that’s what you like? Drawing blood?” he said, his voice low and dragging, thick with that criminal drawl that made every word weigh heavy. “You’re going to learn that with me, it’s different.”
