“I think I’m ready.”
He stirred slowly, blinking awake, disoriented for a moment before his gaze found her and the finished sketches spread across the desk.
“You finished,” he said, sitting up properly now, studying the completed concept with genuine, focused attention.
“I think so,” Aurora said. “I hope so, anyway.”
Damien studied the final design for a long moment, something quietly impressed settling into his expression as he took in the full concept properly for the first time.
“This is the best work I’ve seen come out of that company in years,” he said finally, his voice still rough with sleep, though the sincerity in it was unmistakable.
