" I knew how this worked. Players could kill each other in dungeons. Whoever died dropped their items. The higher the dungeon level, the worse it got. It was easier to steal from other players than fight bosses. The man glared at me, clearly thinking of killing me just to work off his anger. I was about to pull out my items and end this when the ragdoll suddenly jumped out of my arms. "Don't do anything reckless, Bunny." I was scared that it would get hurt again. The player laughed when he saw it. "You think you can threaten me? Don't you know I'm ranked 26th on the leaderboard—aaah!"

"You went through all this trouble to invite everyone here, Annabelle. What exactly do you plan to announce?" Although Hayden was not looking at me, he stopped peeling the apples. I was just considering what to say when I heard a sudden exclamation. Whitney had accidentally broken her fruit bowl. She raised her bleeding hand and ran out, crying. Hayden looked at me hesitantly, but in the end, he still followed her out. My best friend, Florence Austen, nudged me. "Are you doing alright, Anna?" I concentrated on eating my food even as I replied, "I'm perfectly fine."

“Okay, guys, we’re doing singles because Jericho here just had to kill Steph.” “What the hell, man,” I said as Charlotte shook her head. “She knows?” Nataly asked. “She is right here and yes, she knows everything,” Charlotte said and looked at Nataly. Nataly broke eye contact first and I hid my smile. “No face shots, if you get hit, you’re out. Leave the maze with your hands in the air,” Jack said and Joshua smiled as he looked at me. We walked around the outer building to where Jack had a maze set up. It wasn’t an overly big maze but it was intricate enough to make the game fun.

“You still don’t get it. I was never going to win the war. I was going to end the game.” He pointed to the server behind him. “One button, Dino. All your work — the future you dream of — goes up in flames. Every ally you made. Every nation that helped you.” “You think they’ll fall for your bluff?” Alejandro’s finger hovered over the keyboard. “I don’t bluff.” Silence. Then Dino said softly, “Neither do I.” He reached behind him and threw a small disk forward. It clanged once — then exploded in a burst of electric light.
