Eddie joked. The corner of his mouth kicked up again. “That could be possible. I’m pushing Jackson and Dax to do everything they can to get you a hearing soon.” “Thanks. Well, I guess that’s it. It was good talking to you. Don’t be a stranger,” Eddie said and hung the phone up on the wall. He stood, indicating to the guard on duty that he was ready to leave. Bruce stood, too. He was a stalky, muscled SOB.

He ignored my words about the girl. “We’re here to see your boss,” said Glenn without a hint of fear. “You must be Arseny Telsov, his second-in-command.” If Arseny was surprised to be identified, he didn’t show it. He didn’t even blink. “What do you want with him?” As Glenn started to speak, I put a hand on his arm for a second to silence him. “I have business with him. Personal business.” Arseny give me a look filled with disdain. “I recognize you. You’re on the footage from that show.”

But he managed it. In essence, Mr. Eddie was quite the ladies' man, and a cunning one at that, in my opinion. However, his flirtatious escapades ceased when he encountered Rosie, the love of his life, who, to this very day, probably still holds his heart. Even after her passing in 1980, he never moved on and asserted that he never would for the remainder of his days. He harbored the hope of reuniting with her in the afterlife, and if he is still alive today, I can only hope that his wish is granted when he departs from this world. Now, back to the flashback:

The last I had heard was that Morrison had disappeared that was three or four years ago. “Good God man, are you still working?” Eddie asked. “Yes, I am so glad you learned how to knock.” I retort. “Well hurry up. Kendrick and I think that it’s time that the three of us have a guys night out. The fact that Kayssia and Yvette are visiting our cousin made our decision easier.” Eddie adds.

Edwin, and I secretly prayed for him to take the bait. "I'm in total support with Mr. Edwin. We the elders had worked so hard, over the years to maintain our clean reputation, we can't just become the object of mockery all because of Leonard." Mr. Zeus picking my signal quickly chipped in, while I smiled inwardly at the unfolding of our schemes.

I look at him pleadingly. “Good job I have a state of the art treadmill in my gym then isn't it.” he says smugly. “You have a gym here?!” I can’t believe it. Oh how the other half live. If it wasn’t for the fact that Connor is so down to earth I would probably judge him severely. My judgy brain is still turning this information over when he sits on the edge of the bed with shoes in hand.

“Noah is an adult, Mom. Let him do as he pleases.” “If he was with a girl, maybe…” Mr Gracias uttered, but was cut short by his wife. “Oh please, don’t start, honey! You said you’d accept him for who he is, as long as he’s happy. You don’t have to imagine him being straight. When the right person comes, he'll be just fine.” Mr Gracias shrugged and exhaled. “Fine. If you say so.” Eddy’s phone suddenly vibrated in his pockets. He pulled it out and checked what message it could be. He was pretty surprised to see it was a message from Natasha Jones.

"Yeah," I admitted without hesitation. Everyone's heads snapped my way, their faces twisted with disgust. One guy muttered loud enough for the whole room to hear, "Some people just never change, huh?" I ignored him and focused on Nicole. "Your program's solid. I couldn't help taking a peek. But I noticed it only solves the first two parts of the project. How are you planning to finish the last section?" For a second, a hint of nervousness flickered in Nicole's eyes. She fumbled with her words. "That part, um… I'll need a few more days."

With a few simple sentences, he had wiped away my decade of silent dedication to the family. My hard-earned achievements were just feathers in Elena's cap, her promotion, her raise, her newfound power. I let out a soft, bitter laugh, barely audible. I stepped out of the meeting room, pulled out my phone, and dialed a number I had not touched in ages, but knew by heart. The moment it was picked up, I asked without emotion, "Is the Consigliere spot still open?" A low chuckle answered, "Always has been, just for you!"
