16 NINA I could see it in his eyes—the flicker of defiance dying, snuffed out like a weak flame in a storm. He was mine, and he knew it. I leaned back, slowly, teasingly, my body inches away from his, the tension between us thick with the scent of fear and arousal. Elias lay beneath me, chest heaving, his mind teetering on the edge of madness, and it thrilled me beyond words. I trailed my fingers down my body, deliberately slow, watching him watch me.

“You forfeited the right to that word years ago.” Edward flinched, but he didn’t back down. “I know what people think,” he said. “I know what you think. That I came to ask for money. Or to threaten exposure. To say you took my daughter by force.” My stomach tightened. Because that was exactly what we both thought. Antonioni stepped forward, every inch of him radiating controlled violence. “Say whatever you came to say. And say it fast.” Edward’s gaze shifted to me then, properly, finally. There was something in his eyes I didn’t recognize. Not greed. Not desperation. Fear.

“Don’t worry. The doctor said you are recovering well. In a few more days, you can be discharged and start preparing for the wedding.” Eden York held a small slice of apple to my lips, his voice full of tenderness and concern. Ian looked almost ravenous. Palms crawled from her calf to her inner thighs, spreading her incredibly wide legs, trying to make as much room for his invasion.

She muttered to herself as she had a sneaked look at Edward to know if he was still fast asleep . Opening the squeezed papers to find out what it has on , one of the letter says.. “It doesn’t make any kind of sense.” Edik waved behind him, “this is my nephew’s son. Maksim, is this or is this not the woman you saw at the resort in Switzerland last year who made the woman working behind the counter cry because she didn’t have her preferred bottled water?” When the man nodded, Edik looked back to Angie, “and so you will be working behind the counter just like the girl did.” He looked back to Rin, “I will ask you clear the room as there is something else, I want but your parents and siblings do not need to be part of the conversation. You and Sonny alone.”

His voice carried righteous anger, and the crowd immediately sympathized with him. Their gazes all turned toward Stellar. Eddie followed their stares, but the moment his eyes landed on Stellar, his entire body froze. Stellar let out a cold laugh and stepped through the crowd, stopping directly in front of him. Her eyes were sharp and filled with icy contempt. "And who exactly is the one with no shame here?" The sight of him was almost laughable. She knew this man. Years ago, back when she was still writing, she had met Eddie, who was just another aspiring writer at the time, during an offline author meetup.

Chapter 192: Safe As Houses After they finished eating, Angus wandered back over to the edge and sat with his feet dangling over the side. He held out his hand toward her. "Come sit with me." His tone was soft. Anna shook her head. "Nope. Un-uh, no way." "Come on," he encouraged softly with a roguish grin. Torn between her abject fear of heights and the desire she felt for him that she was only now beginning to acknowledge to herself, Anna debated what to do. Ultimately, Angus's bright blue eyes won out.

Jocelyn snapped and angrily turned her back on her mom, pretending to sleep. "I brought you something to eat. Your favourite custard pie." Angeline said sweetly from behind. Jocelyn was quiet. She only closed her eyes and all she could see was the cute face of the supposed doctor. * * Eddie sat in his office, observing a file. Suddenly he stopped and looked up then stared into space, picturing that pretty face from moments ago. His new patient. His bride patient. He couldn't stop thinking about why she wanted to kill herself on her wedding day.

Thank God the house is soundproof and no one gets to hear our drama. Edde is such a complicated being and I'm so lucky that I understand him so well. He loses control each time a man is with me or I'm hurt and Sometimes his anger affects me. He is also very Romantic and caring but overly possessive that sometimes he makes me feel like a puppet. ©Pop Precious
