After entering the bedroom, I switch on the lights and peep under the bed. Bile rises up my throat when I find Shone lying under the bed, his face touching the cold floor. He's shaking vigorously in fright. “Shone, it's me your dad!” “Go away Jeff! You're not my father! You and Darlene killed my parents. I hate you all!”

"What are you talking about?" I asked Landon, my voice low but firm. I was about to turn and face him when he went in front of me himself. He towered over me, his eyes were dark and vicious looking straight into mine as if he wanted to look into my soul through them. I don't mind if he could. I don't care about anything else now. All I want is vengeance and I'm willing to do whatever it takes just to have that. "You heard me right, Eve. You have had vampire blood in you ever since you were born."

He leaned forward and spat a thick, viscous wad of saliva directly onto the glass between us. “You’re an old cargo, Croft!” he screamed, his voice cracking. “A rotting ship! I’m coming for you! Gerard sneered, sweeping his leg around to kick Eddie’s knee. Eddie absorbed the strike, dropping into a low stance and driving his elbow straight into Gerard’s chest. “I AM loyal!” Eddie snarled, spit flying from his mouth. “To my Alpha! To Athena!” Gerard’s expression darkened into pure, demonic fury. “You are going to bitterly regret that choice.” Gerard’s hand transformed into a shadow blade, slashing violently across Eddie’s chest. Blood sprayed across the marble, and Eddie staggered backward with a gasp of pain.

I won’t apologize for enjoying it. Drake picks up a knife and begins sharpening it slowly, letting the sound build tension. Edward holds his breath, watching that blade like it might decide his fate all on its own. I walk over and take it from Drake’s hand, winking at him. “Drake, get me the hose. Ben, the wolfsbane.” They nod and move into action while I step toward Edward, smiling. Sweet and fake. “So, Eddy. Who were you working with?” He rolls his eyes.

"You're pretty damn lucky! I set a venomous snake on you and even took your antivenom, but you still didn't die! "Why won't you just die? Die already! Die!"
