Ederic finished his dinner early, retreating to his room and deliberately avoiding any interaction with Aaron. Despite Aaron's return to the country from his business trip, Ederic's behavior towards him had drastically changed in the two days since then. Aaron noticed the stark difference in Ederic's demeanor. The usually warm and quirky Ederic, who was often cheerful and playful, now seemed distant and aloof.
