He looks down at me, his jaw clenched tight. “You’re really going to play that card? I saw the way you just treated Henry down the hall. What the hell was that?”

I say quietly, “here’s your chance to prove yourself right. I hope for your sake you’re not as weak as everyone thinks you are — because this could be really embarrassing for you.” Whatever reasoning was left in Edric’s expression disappears completely. All that remains is raw rage. His eyes crystallize, his pupils narrowing to slits as bloodlust passes through them. His canines also lengthen, and his claws slide from his fingers like knives. My wolf snarls, furious at the interruption. ‘Finish it.’

“I hope this will finally end the kidnapping going on. Edric could really use some time off with his pup due soon.” I nodded as Liam’s eyes changed back to normal. “He’s actually in position already. They are only waiting for the green light.” “Great.” Xavier paused as his eyes glazed over briefly too before smiling. “Edric has arrived and is moving in.
