When they touch me

When they touch me

My heartbeat skyrockets, and I take slow breaths to not hyperventilate until the merchant talks again, freeing me from my pain. “The fish are totally fine,” he says with a crooked smile, not even hiding that he is mocking me. “Safer for the pups than a Golden Retriever.” My eyes move back onto the creature, who is now slowly closing its mouth again, the pressure lifting from inside my head. “But I have something else that will interest you too in such situations,” he snorts, lifting a glass. I take a step back as an eel-like worm moves in circles, bile rising in my throat. “Ever heard of soul-eating worms? They are especially popular among your kin.”

A Blood-Like Rain (All the Hounds of Hell #2)

A Blood-Like Rain (All the Hounds of Hell #2)

Kaden looked about to argue. Sam was looking at his Alpha, waiting to know what to do. Elaeya eyes changed colour to a sort of reflective whitish shimmer, the contours a dark shade of magenta. She pulled on one of the thing’s arms to drag it closer. It clearly had the strength to fight her, but it complied in amusement. When it got close enough, its mouth opened in a chasm nearly as big as her whole head, rasping in horrifying gurgling. It’s triple tongues slithering in thick saliva in all directions in anticipation.

Zander whimpered from the pain while I clutched my chest tightly. "Follow the fragrance," he urged on. Turning towards the direction of the scent, the pain disappeared. A frown marred my face. "Come on," Zander pushed me, once again, he was excited. Deciding to know what was going on, I began to trace the fragrance. The more I got closer to where it was coming from, the more Zander's excitement bubbled. "What is so special about this scent?" I growled. "It makes us feel at peace. See, it even healed us of the ache." He sighed happily. "It has become my favorite scent."

As always, I love this Author! Now that the book is complete I am going to go back and read it again. Thank you so much for putting up with all of our whining about new chapters, however it's your fault for writing a book that I didn't want to put down lol! I hope life treats you kindly!!

Anemones

Anemones

When he saw Alice jump from the deck into the blue clear water, he knew that fishing was the safest thing to do. As he watched Alice swim, he wondered why she hadn't become a model or an actress. She would be a sensation with such a body. Though she was way too fat for a model, but if she was ten kilos less and it was easy to count all the ribs… But alas, she didn’t look anorexic. Yes, she looked thin, but not overbearing. Maybe she would be a great actress or she would end up from bed to bed with more directors, producers, screenwriters…

Elf To Tame A Werewolf

Elf To Tame A Werewolf

It's hard to feel uncomfortable around him. He had welcomed us when we arrived, as had the others in the camp. They would number thirty at least, men and women and children, with the latter being the majority. Elwyn had made a disgusted sound when he saw them approaching with smile and open arms, and Torek's eyes narrowed. 'Clickers,' he muttered to his sister. I had heard about them once or twice, a wandering race of insect channelers, though they had a more appealing name; Arthrolytes.

The Secret Moonbird, Hellblades Series Part 2 of 3

The Secret Moonbird, Hellblades Series Part 2 of 3

The melody rose through the blizzard, curling around my ribs like invisible fingers. My eyes drifted toward the edge of the iceberg, toward the base where the voice came from. “Manolya?” Pelin’s voice echoed faintly behind me. “What are you—?” I stepped forward, each step crunching on the ice. And there she was. Pisces. The great oarfish, long and slim, her silver body rippling with crimson stripes and black spots. Her head bore a red crest. She dove down again, and the enchanting melody stopped.

He stepped closer to where she was still pressed against the glass, attracting more fishes to peer at her, having the time of her life and began to point out the fishes and their names. "This here is an angelfish, look at the stripes on it's body, the one currently opening it's mouth with you is a..." "Goldfish!" She blurted out in delight and laughed. " I know a few things about fishes." "Ahh... Who would've thought?"

Survival In The Parallel World

Survival In The Parallel World

Normally I'd prefer to use running water, living near a river made things a lot easier, but I still prefer this lake over the place where they were living before. Small particles that came in the water used to boil the elven mochi slowly dissolve on the surface of the lake, surprisingly small minnows come to eat. apparently the elvish wheat fruit attracts animals. I wonder what uses I could give this new information... It has worked so far with the cat and with this small fish, we may be able to use it as bait somehow. Right now Hiraku is our best fisherman, spearfishing with harpoons has become his main task, but he spends quite a lot of time just looking for his prey, plus he needs to be i
