The Bully And Me
All I can focus on is Emilie’s face, her eyes wide with surprise and something else - love.
“I forgot the most important part,” I say, cracking open the box to reveal a delicate diamond ring that catches the light and throws sparks across the room.
Is it good enough for her?
I look up and see Emilie’s breath catch as she glimpses it. It gives me the confidence to say, “Emilie, will you marry me? Officially? With ring and everything?”
Her lips tremble, and for a moment, she looks lost for words. But then regains herself. “Yes,” she chokes out, “yes, yes, yes!”
