Alpha Dalton’s POV After dinner we all went and sat on the porch and guzzled down the beers. I noticed Tyler was only on her second one and she peered up at me from the rocking chair she was sitting in and smiled, “If you are wondering, I don’t drink that much. Especially when I have a lot on my mind.” She took a quick sip and sat it down on the little ashtray table next to her, “I’m the exact opposite. I drink when I’m stressed out. Usually the harder stuff, but this will do. Have you ever gotten black out drunk? she gestured towards the bottle. "Because there's so much beauty around us, Emily," Alex answered, his eyes sparkling with sincerity. "You deserve to experience it fully, without the haze of alcohol clouding your vision." Reluctantly, Emily agreed to give it a try. As they strolled hand in hand, Alex pointed out the delicate petals of flowers, the rustling leaves, and the joyful laughter of children playing nearby. Gradually, Emily's grip on the bottle loosened, and a glimmer of curiosity sparked within her.

I hummed, taking more sips. “Yeah.” Emily laughed. “And be careful with the sips. That wine is alcoholic. A glass is enough to knock Noelle down.” Emily warned and I looked at Noelle and that was when I noticed that she had barely taken a sip from hers. I really should have dropped the glass. But it tasted too good. “Don't worry. I'm not lightweight.” I did not even know if I was or not. I had not tested alcohol before. I finished my glass and Alexandre helped me fill the glass for the second time.

"After everything I did for him." She reached for another bottle of whiskey, her movements clumsy and desperate. The alcohol dulled the sharp edges of her rage, but it couldn't stop the fear that gnawed at her chest. Jones knew everything. Every phone call, every plan, every crime they had committed together. The library door burst open. Richard Caldwell stood in the doorway, his face twisted with disgust as he took in the scene. Empty bottles lined the mahogany desk. Broken glass covered the floor. Emily's hair hung loose around her shoulders, her makeup smeared, her expensive dress stained with spilled liquor.
