Clara stepped forward, her heart pounding as she reached out to touch the stone. The moment her fingers brushed against its surface, a wave of power crashed into her. She felt the pulse of the darkness, felt its hunger, and in the depths of that pulse, she heard the echo of Emily’s voice.
It was faint, distant, but it was there.
“Clara…” Emily’s voice whispered in her mind, fragile and broken. “Help me… please…”
