The war was over. Victor Hale’s empire had fallen.

Marcus grabs my waist and pushes me behind him, “Your highness.” He did a bow-like gesture. “What are you doing?” Marcus opens his mouth to say something but doesn’t. “ And do not even think about lying. Your job was to stay hidden and to keep your eyes on her.” The purple eyes slowly faded to gold and Marcus sighed.

The sharp crack of porcelain echoed through the kitchen. A plate slipped from Aurelia’s wet fingers and shattered against the marble floor, fragments scattering in every direction. Before she could even bend down, a sharp voice cut through the air. “Aurelia, are you blind? That’s imported porcelain! Do you know how expensive that is?” The head servant, Mrs. Rowan, stood at the doorway with her arms folded, her expression filled with disdain. Her lips curled slightly as she looked at Aurelia as if she were something stuck to the bottom of her shoe.

The whole room gave a soft glow as the light slowly diminish, which reflects on the baby's eyes. The eyes turned to gold for a moment before returning to their original ocean blue color. The emperor watched as her ocean blue eyes landed on him once again. Just like what she did when he first held her. "My daughter…" The emperor murmured as he leaned down to kiss the baby's forehead. The baby's arm also went up and touched his cheek as if feeling whether the person is real or not. When she felt that this was a real person, she laughed and giggled in joy.

She looked up— Elegant clothes… Clear authority… A cold presence that suffocated the place. … The emperor. He lifted his head and looked at her with extremely cold eyes. His gaze alone was enough to freeze her in place. Let alone his suffocating aura. Drops of water slowly fell from the edge of his robe. Silence… became heavier. Iris trembled under that gaze. She held her breath… Not now… please, not now. “How could her first meeting with her master be this bad?”

A soaring sword light split into three like three green peaks and slashed at the giant claws with dragon roars! The claw was cut and fell to the ground! The emperor in the sky shouted angrily, “Damn you! I’m going to kill you!” After that, the huge red eyeball wanted to break through that crack and was desperately trying to squeeze in! The eyeball was bloodshot, and the black pupil rolled around like a wild beast! A huge head covered with the power of chaotic energy was about to poke through the crack! Suddenly, another figure appeared! The aura of an emperor rippled!

The game continues. One of the servants entered, knelt in front of the throne: "They are here." "Send them in," the emperor said without emotion. His eyes followed the servant as he left the throne room. The emperor stood up. The servant returned after a few moments, behind him a tall man slowly walked down the hallway. His gaze went from one column to the other.

“Unstable!” “Useful!” “Dangerous.” Priam Endymion sat at the head of the long table, eyes closed for a moment as he listened. The Emperor looked older now in the private light—shadows under his eyes, lines deeper around his mouth but the weight of rulership made him seem older. Empress Ariadne sat beside him, straight-backed and calm. Her dark hair glimmered with threaded jewels, and her eyes stayed sharp, taking in every whisper, every nervous glance.
