I saw him looking at her with sparkling eyes.” “Oh my god,” I whisper. I stare at the floor, knowing there’s no way I can stop this freight train. When Jersey gets on a roll, no one can stop him. No one who doesn’t want a giant tantrum on their hands can, anyway.

Maybe she was overreacting and needed to get over it, she thought. Mikey apologized immediately after they arrived. "I am sorry for scaring you. You're just so cute. I couldn't help it," he smirked. Elisa didn't say anything. She didn't even want to look at him. They didn't do much other than watch TV and drink beer. Elisa sat far away from Mikey and avoided eye contact as much as possible while Gerald talked to Mikey by himself. Mikey reached toward the end table next to his couch and opened the drawer. Elisa watched as he pulled out a small pouch with white powder in it. Elisa saw something similar in a movie, so she knew what it was.

No one else in the town heard that hum. MICKEY WROTE PROFUSELY. His knuckles were shades of violet and blue and his ink was at the clutch of draining. Only the persimmon light from his night lamp lit his sweaty and greasy notebook, leatherbound and obviously used to the point that the sheets are loosely coming off its spine. I looked at Micah and said softly, "Micah, do you mind if I call you Micky from now on?" Essel burst out laughing, "Micky... I love Micky Mouse! Ms. Chancey, trust me. My brother is as smart as Micky!" Micah's eyes held disbelief.

"You can't even take on a beast, Dax, and you want to kill me! Hilarious…" Swish! As the final word rang through the air, Mickey exploded upward to join the fight. In the blink of an eye, another fierce battle broke out. Mickey's wounds had healed thanks to the pill he took, and he moved fast as lightning. The Golden Ring Venomous Millipede was indeed quite tired then and could not catch up to him, turning back to focus on Dax. Indeed, this was part of Mickey's plan too. He was going to maim Chester first, then use the Golden Ring Venomous Millipede to take down Dax before killing them both when the millepede was out of energy.

The movie was good, but the 3 of them ended up falling asleep before the movie ended. At 6 am, Micky gets out of bed, does his morning rituals, gets dressed, kisses Kat and Alex on the lips, making them mumble words he doesn't understand, and goes out to the kitchen, where the shewolves were preparing breakfast for the pack. They show him their neck, something he still hasn't gotten used to. Coffee, orange juice, eggs, bacan, toast and pieces of various fruits are placed in front of you, and a stack of hot pancakes, with butter and maple syrup. Micky eats everything with an appetite, says goodbye to the girls and goes to the training court.

Simba took out a piece of paper from his pocket and gave it to him. Micah chuckled and opened the paper. There was a drawing of a semi dragon human. It had sharp black teeth and a huge green tail. “Should I tell you a secret?” Simba asked. “Yes, tell me,” Micah asked with curiosity. Simba got closer to him and placed his cold little hands-on Micah’s cheek and slowly whispered into his ear. “He doesn’t bath at all!! All the pretty ladies run away from him,” Simba spoke in a serious tone all along.

I looked up to see Micca standing there with a glare on his face. His eyes are shiny lime green with flecks of silver. I had always believed they were identical. They aren't. Miles is slightly taller. His demeanor shouts bad boy. Micca is the complete opposite. His blue and white high tops go perfectly with his dark-fitted jeans, tight only where it counts. The blue t-shirt reads "Home is Where The Paws Are" with the outline of a dog around it. He had taken his time with his hair and the black hoodie makes me want to hug him. If I didn't know who he really was under his stupid mask. "Can you see me now?" he asks. I laugh. His smile drops and he stares at me like he's seen a ghost.

My eyes moved to look at the corner of my office and I watched a young boy who had my heart fully curled up on the couch. He held a graphic novel and his glasses kept sliding down his nose, maybe because they were not big enough to actually hold the glasses in place. Every now and then, his brows would furrow just with the same concentration that Liam used to have when he was looking at contracts. I had named this beautiful boy Micah. He was my miracle, my secret and I loved him more than I loved his father. He was only four years old but somehow he was acting and talking like he is ten. He even wrote codes like he was born with a keyboard in his hands and sometimes, he would ask questions t

And that was okay. Today I was helping Micah, a thirteen-year-old with a shaved head, hoodie sleeves always tugged down over their palms, and the eyes of someone who’d seen more than they should’ve. They weren’t chatty, but they liked drawing. Their sketchbook was filled with figures that resembled comic book heroes, quiet and fierce, with eyes always cast in shadow. They were hunched over a new page now, sketching a person standing in the center of swirling chaos. The figure held a long sword in both hands, the blade resting downward, tip touching the ground. Not raised. Not slashing. Just… there.
