______ Episode 5 – Threesome The party was winding down. The music had softened from pulsing electronica to a low, sensual jazz beat. Empty glasses and half-eaten plates littered the surfaces of Mark’s spacious loft. He stood by the window, looking out at the city lights, feeling the pleasant buzz of good whiskey and the lingering energy of the evening. He was unaware of the silent conversation happening across the room.

I asked. "Stop messing around, Opal! I just had to make sure Diane was okay. What is with running away? Where are you?" "It's not a joke. I am not running away, I am done with our relationship. You should stop calling Lily and threatening her. You pack is not strong enough to take mine," I said. "Opal, what are you saying who just ups and breaks up?" He asked. "You know that thing they say about mates being up to fate? I think they were right. Don't call me again," I said and ended the call. After that, I took in a deep breath and turned away to leave when I realized someone was behind me.

Episode 38 As the music began, Landon led Lily onto the dance floor, his hand still wrapped around hers. They moved in perfect sync, their bodies swaying to the rhythm of the song. Lily felt like she was floating on air, her nervousness forgotten in the magic of the moment. Landon's eyes locked onto hers, his gaze burning with intensity as they glided across the floor. Their bodies drew closer amd Lily's heart raced as Landon's hand slid around her waist, pulling her in until they were almost touching.

After that, I looked back at the group of lustful men staring at me and kept dancing until the song ended. They applauded enthusiastically. I didn’t know how I was supposed to thank them, so I mimicked a theater actress and then walked toward my dressing room. On the way, I ran into the coordinator and my brother-in-law. They both congratulated me. Eduardo told me to follow him to his office. Once he closed the door, he kissed me passionately. Then he invited me to sit down and began by saying he was troubled—because he had never felt what he was feeling for me. He didn’t deny that he had slept with many of his dancers, but none of them had ever stirred in him what I made him feel.

But I wasn’t about to wait for this cesspool of a show to dictate my steps any longer. I pushed open the iron door to the rooftop, pulling out the portable speaker I had prepared in advance. Setting up my phone, I opened my live-streaming app. "Hello, everyone," I began, my voice steady as rain drizzled around me. "I’m Victoria Dean. I apologize for meeting you all under these circumstances. “But as a dancer, I want to show you that the most powerful performances don’t need elaborate embellishments. This dance has a real name. It’s called, the Unyielding Rose in the Rain.”

It’s funny how things change, and while working at one of the fastest growing software companies used to be my only driving force in life, being the best mother I can be is so much more important. Jackson jumps around with excitement when he sees another kid dressed as a Jedi, and they do a little pretend fight scene. Jackson ‘wins’ and says he has to go and save more planets. “He knows nothing about Star Wars,” Wes laughs. “No kidding.” I slow my pace, getting another pain in my side. I feel it more when I’m stressed, and right now I’m pretty damned stressed. Wes slows with me, making sure I’m okay. “Can I ask you something personal about Daisy?” I ask and start walking again.
