Chapter 130 The Human Lands Levi's POV The air still hummed with electricity from our heated moment. I had marked Erin as mine, and in that searing, sacred instant, the floodgates of memory burst open. Every lifetime, every stolen glance, every whispered promise we’d ever shared crashed over me like a tidal wave. I remembered it all now—being Alpha Daniel, the reckless curiosity that drove me to tear open doorways between realms, the fierce, all-consuming love I’d always felt for her.

"Father, I saw… I saw the king and Elora, the slave girl, mating…on the king's bed." As she stuttered, Kain corked his right brow in amusement. "You saw them fucking?" He taunted. She shook her head vehemently, a glaring sign for the word "no". The look in her eyes told him she had not found his attempt at humor funny, not in the least. "No father!" She protested. "I saw them mating!" His amused smile dissolved into a faint frown. "Mating is for animals, Erika. Whatever are you trying to say?" Erika looked more at ease. She nodded, as though he had finally understood what she had been trying to say.

And now that they both know they’re siblings, Erik cannot help but tease her for real. “That was your dream from the past, Arena. You want Arden Gunner to chase you desperately, like he is obsessed with you,” he said, laughing. Erina snickered, as she found it a bit too much. “I can’t remember that anymore.” Erik calmed down right away, as his smile was slowly vanishing.

“You’re ten times worse than him! You’re so bad, in fact, that you can’t even distinguish your own sister from your list of potential sexual conquests!” When I was finished, my chest heaved with anger and breathlessness. We both stood there for several long moments in the now-silent yard, my words echoing between us over and over again before I finally spoke just one last time. “You’ll never find your mate,” I said, taking a shaky step backwards. “Not unless you—” “Rowena,” Eric suddenly blurted out, “you are my mate!”

Then, to my dismay, he started walking toward us. “He’s coming over,” I hissed at Viktor, gripping my glass. “So what? He’s the acting Beta, I’m the acting Alpha. We have to talk,” Viktor whispered back, though his stance shifted slightly, becoming less casual. Eric approached. Up close, he was overwhelming. The heat from his body, the scent of smoke and cedar, the sheer force of his presence—it was all too much for my small corner. He stopped a foot away, his smile turning warm and genuine. “Viktor. Good. I was hoping to steal a word. How are you enjoying the mandatory fun, Sherry? Still preferring the written word to the spoken, I assume?”

And a beast this man is. High Alpha Erik towers over Serenia by at least two feet and is built like a darn barn. He has vibrant blue eyes that seem to pierce the soul and a large black beard covering his face almost up to his eyes, the rest covered by long braided hair. She feels as small as a snail in his presence, but his commanding attention is solely on her.
