I took his cheeks in my hands. “Let them fight.” I said. He nodded. “It’s…” He didn’t need to finish the sentence. Through the bond, I could already feel the pain as his wolves warred. He was wincing. His hands shook.

Not yet. “Kitten,” Sabastian cajoles as I meet his deep, dark brown eyes. “Given them too her, they don’t need to see this.” I look at him for a moment, debating my options. I can’t put them down, but at the same time, I don’t want to scare them or scar them for life. I don’t know what I am about to see, but it is nothing good. “The house is surrounded by warriors. I didn't sleep well. My dreams were a confused mess of legal contracts, masked men, and Adrian Black’s eyes staring at me through a screen. Thump. Thump. Something heavy landed on my stomach. Then, something sharp pricked my leg. "Tom! Jerry! Get off Mommy!" a small voice giggled. I cracked one eye open. My two rescue cats, Tom, a fat orange tabby, and Jerry, a scrawny black cat, were using me as a trampoline. And right in the middle of the feline wrestling match was Milo.

My father’s voice entered my head, “that’s enough, son there gone.” Xander snarled as he walked over to the dead warrior, sitting on his haunches he howled in pain. My father knelt at the warrior’s side, his head down and his hand on his chest, “you served us well, John, may the goddess receive you and hold you close to her”

At some point, Catherine had started an affair with one of the warriors. The warrior had a mate but apparently that meant nothing to him. He was a tall, well-built man with thinning hair and dull grey eyes. He would sometimes come over when Michael was out on one of his benders and smoke cigarettes before taking Catherine upstairs to fuck for hours on end. It’s time to make the punishment more interesting and agonizing; interesting for us, agonizing for them.” Raelynn requested politely, making sure to lower her voice. Only the three men could hear her; Raelynn made sure to keep her victims in the dark. It was a surprise for them for not cooperating with her. Although she was the Commander of the battalion, the two men beside Laurier was more capable and experienced than her. She respected them, without putting an air of arrogance in front of them.

Another woman frowned, unable to understand this. “I told you guys to go up the path. Go up the path guys. Why can’t you all understand?” Skyler was speechless as his hints were so obvious. He did not expect that Orchid and the others would still struggle to understand. “It’s not the Goddess of War, but we need to think higher? Could it be…” Orchid frowned and soon smiled bitterly. “Could it be the Supreme Warrior?” “That’s right!” Skyler smiled indifferently. “The person who’s looking to hire bodyguards is the Supreme Warrior. The one and only strongest person in our Cathysia army, the Supreme Warrior!”

“And get the warriors ready. We’re going after her.” Johnson didn’t waste a second. He gave me a sharp nod and ran out the door, already shouting orders. I could hear the sound of footsteps echoing down the hall, voices rising as the pack came alive with urgency. I stayed by the window for a moment longer, my hand pressed against the cold glass. My reflection stared back at me, eyes dark and wild, my jaw clenched so tight it hurt. “Hold on, Kat,” I whispered, my voice trembling even though I tried to make it firm. “I’m coming for you.”
