A familiar voice pushed through the noise. Ethan. He was speaking live to a local news station outside the arena. “…we are deeply concerned about Mr. Rhodes’ mental health,” Ethan said gently. His voice sounded calm and full of fake pain. “He has been under extreme pressure, and it appears he was targeted by a former employee with a history of disturbing behavior. We are working closely with the authorities to ensure his safe return. Kai, if you can hear me, please come home. We can fix this.” Kai suddenly grabbed the radio and slammed it onto the floor.

I said quietly. “Postpone?” Mom looked horrified. “Honey, all those people are already at the venue. The flowers, the catering, the musicians…everything’s ready.” “But I don’t have a proper dress—” Heavy footsteps echoed in the hallway, interrupting my protest. Everyone turned toward the door as a familiar figure filled the doorway. Ethan stood there in his perfectly tailored black tuxedo, looking like he stepped off the cover of a magazine. His dark eyes took in the scene…the destroyed dress, Emma’s tear-streaked face, Mom hovering protectively, the general chaos of my bedroom.

She said and Ethan smiled. "I follow you on I*******m. You can say I'm stalker though." He chuckled. "I told you I'm a huge fan." Oh my goodness! And I never knew? Oh well, I was probably too occupied with thoughts of Alvin's boss to care about another man. "Wow! I'm honestly flattered by your words." She said sincerely and Ethan smiled. "Uhm, you're the CEO of that famous real estate company, is that right?" "Yeah, TK's Global." Ethan nodded.

My eyes warmed a little bit more as I nodded at him too. When it came to Mason, he just said that he is the CEO of Garcia company and runs some other family business. Even though I am curious about it, I just left it like that and nodded at him, not wanting to indulge in this anymore. My eyes turned to Ethan. " So I like games and play pretty much everything but I love basketball and football and I am going for a match in the championship on-" Ethan started saying but I cut him by saying "on this Friday".unconsciously while eating.

I asked as I accompanied him, we got into the elevator and fortunately no one was in there just the both of us. “You don't have to worry about anything, I did my job as your PR” Ethan said tiredly. “Thank you” I said to him, He swallowed up the hate he had for me and did his job, that should be the word I should say to him. He just looked at me and didn't say anything, we got to the second floor and he got out “Bite your tongue whenever you get hit by a trigger question, it reduces anxiety” Ethan said and left. His words kept resounding in my ears, for the first time I saw Ethan in a different light.

"Ladies and gentlemen, allow me to introduce our newest investor." Ethan walked into the room. He looked even more striking than he had at the hospital, tall, broad-shouldered, and carrying himself with an effortless confidence that made it difficult not to notice him. His dark suit fitted him perfectly, emphasizing his strong frame, while his face was almost distractingly handsome. I found myself staring. You have got to be kidding me. The same man I had bumped into at the hospital that morning was now sitting across the table from me as the newest investor in Carter's Group.

Legs crossed, phone in hand, thumb scrolling like the fate of Ashworth Heights was a boring stock ticker. Composed. Unbothered. As if the whole room could burn and his tie would still be straight. He didn’t look up once. But I knew he was listening to every word. Men like Drake never missed anything. The door at the back opened. Ethan walked in. His shoulders were squared. Each step measured. Not rushed. Not hesitant. He bowed his head half an inch toward the table—respect, but not submission—and slid into his seat. He cleared his throat, fingers touching the folder in front of him. “Good morning, directors, thank you for—”

CHAPTER 11 Mr and Mrs Edwards were both Max and Ethan parents, they were very Strict and they were rich they had high standard and the respected values they believed in connection and family. Mister and Mrs Edward sat in the visiting room, sipping their tea and discussing their day. The atmosphere was calm and serene, but it was short-lived. Ethan stormed downstairs, his face twisted in anger, and walked out of the house without a word. His parents called out to him, "Ethan, wait! What's wrong?" but he ignored them, slamming the door behind him.

"First-prize winner in the international math competition, and a member of the Amerasia national math competition team.
