The brick cracke and the man crumpled. Chaos detonated. Marlo’s fist exploded across another Serpent’s jaw. Mortis moved like a ghost, twisting a wrist until I heard a snap. Emilio fired a warning shot into the air then spun and cracked a skull with his elbow. I didn’t even move. I watched and I listened for ten seconds, maybe less. It was over. The air was thick with smoke, adrenaline, and the copper stench of blood. A dog barked somewhere in the distance. And sounds started chirping again like nothing had happened.

We took off in a run, knowing that every other wolf would be following, easily tracking the scent of a deer and heading towards it. They all followed. Since Rage was very fast, the only person who had ever kept up with him was Luke’s wolf, Lane and occasionally, my Gamma’s wolf. However, that soon changed because from the corner of my eye, I saw Emry’s silver eyed wolf come into view. I looked to my other side to see Lane already looking at him in surprise as he soon caught up with us. For some reason, I felt immense pride that even though Emry’s wolf wasn’t the biggest, he was at least the fastest of his peers.

Heather’s POV Panting heavily, I pressed myself into the dark corner, desperate for a moment to catch my breath. The wounds from battling Raven’s minions burned fiercely, and my strength was waning. Damon, always the relentless fighter, had taken down several of the minions before being struck by a wolfsbane dart. Now, he lay unconscious on the ground. It was Colt’s doing—he stood off to the side, watching the chaos unfold with a cruel smirk on his face, clearly savoring the destruction.

I take deep breaths and tell myself not to be the person that gets distracted by a broad chest and bulging muscles. Mort stops the moment I step into sight and like an excited puppy he chirps my name, “Emery!” gods above. Mort bounds over, chest still uncovered and an excited look in his eyes. I wonder what he’s excited about. ”I’ve been checking everywhere for you.” I respond coolly, “You have?” He nods, and with a lazy grin he moves closer, “The Night pack Beta, he doesn't know anything about you. We were scared for no reason I guess.”

Derek stormed out of Moore's presence because he didn't know what he would do if he stayed another minute. The tension between them had reached a boiling point, and his wolf Leo was dangerously close to taking over. His mind replayed the words that Moore had smugly thrown at him, “Marked or unmarked, I have tasted every part of her body.” His chest tightened with rage, the possessiveness clawing at his insides. He needed to find Ella. Now.

She is moving like a wolverine that hasn't eaten in months. But the wolfsbane and beatings have hurt her. She quickly tires, and Abby lands a solid right. When she goes for a takedown, I lunge. She hits the ground with a pleasurable crack, and I know her head is bleeding. I forgo punching and start to strangle her. She is the reason Moira was almost raped. She will die today. As I'm choking the life from her, Moira begins to kick her ribs. We are both so consumed with murder we don't notice Emmet, Clint, Lance, and a dozen pack warriors standing in the abandoned building with us. "Lisa. Moira. Are you okay," Emmett yells as he sprints towards us. Moira stops kicking. I assume she is hugging

A bit rough around the edges, but he was a great guy. At that moment, Ethan brought another round of drinks from the bar. Apparently, poor Ashley did not want to come back. Emma took a large drink of hers. She seemed almost hesitant to answer. I placed my hand on her thigh, and she relaxed into my touch. She looked up at me, and I could see the pain clearly reflected in her expression, so I just leaned down and placed a chaste kiss on her lips. She relaxed and squeezed her hand over mine. “My father was Beta Elijah Moore of the Blacktree pack.”
