Today is Monday and it's marks the beginning of the starting day of Examination at Wisdom Expand Secondary school. Students are arranging chairs in preparation for examination. Sandi, Katie and Rosela are already sitting on their chair discussing on how the exams would be like. Sandi kept on starring at Rosela as he thought of the appropriate time on how and when he would explore his feelings to Rosela while he said to himself. "I will tell her immediately after our exams no matter what, I will gather courage anyhow to let her know" he said to himself silently.

The first day of the examination had a kind of different vibe to it. Perhaps it's because a lot of students were very nervous about the exam. Well, who wouldn't be anyways, since it's the final exams? Though there were two people who weren't and those two people are none other than our main characters, Mira and Joseph.

How to explain this to a horse, right? **** The next day I went confidently to the first exam. I will get a good grade. Even if it's a scratch, but I'll get it. As soon as I entered the room, I noticed a small group of people gathered and talking. I sat down in my seat. “Hey, child thief... Did you at least get to keep the son? I told myself that since I have read most of the book then I should ace the exam. So with pride and confidence, I strode into the hall, received insults from the invigilator for coming late and finally sat for the exam. It turned out that the exam was only two questions that were intertwined and I couldn't answer question number two without answering number one. It was one of the most disappointing, awkward and embarrassing moment of my life. But does that disappointment supersede this?

After a few days the quarrel ended. Today is the day when the math exam takes place. Today is Friday. I was left at home alone by Mom. Terrence was going to his colleague's place this afternoon and he had been leaving since morning. I was alone with some of Terrence's pet ornamental fish. I've been doing well on my exams these past few days. I think I did all the questions properly and correctly. Today there will only be one exam and that is the subject I dislike the most.

There was a huge tree in the yard, and a bench right below it. I didn’t realize giving an examination would be so exhausting. I’m smart enough to crack any test, but giving an oral examination in front of a crowd is hectic!

Each time, I refused to let them win. Sometimes, I caught Jennifer’s eyes from a distance, her lips curling into that same mocking smile. Other times, May’s car appeared near the school gate and then vanished again. But I didn’t break. Not this time. *** The final exam day came faster than I expected. The air felt different that morning — too still, too heavy. I woke up early, packed my pens and ID card, and checked everything twice. My reflection in the mirror looked calmer than I felt.

I can only imagine how her lips would taste, but not for much longer, after I have done what must be done. Tomorrow was the last paper we were having for the West African Examination. What a total way to end an examination, with a poof of a big bomb. I could imagine how he would feel. Haha! The almighty Timi was going down and he couldn't even smell a whiff of it. The hammer to slam his heart was approaching fast and there was nothing he could even do to stop it, that made me really happy. I turned around and walked out from my Dad's office, I better get some sleep, tomorrow is going to be a good day.

The week after the competition, Examination started in earnest in Nightingale Academy. The students, all of whom have much prepared in one way or the other, weren’t so pleased when the day finally knocked at the door. Students could be seen fidgeting at the entrance of the hall, while others walked gallantly as if they knew what were in the questions.
