Chapter 3 Your husband has been with me Elara's POV Morning came slower than it ever did. My eyes never slammed shut and every tick of the clock intensified my torture — intensified the pain inside of me. I had slept alone, even though I always did but yesterday night was different. I slept alone while another woman was with my husband. I hated to admit it but I went to the door 2 times and all I made out was the echo of their laughter, the stories they told each other.

I discovered that her husband was frequently away on business trips, leaving her feeling lonely despite her wealth, designer clothes, and the chauffeur who waited outside. "There are rumors that you used sleepwalking as an excuse to leave the marriage. Are they true?" Wendy's eyes reddened as she choked back tears. "I don't know anything. I'm innocent.
