Ava was about to grab the door knob but it was opened for her. She went in and was dumbfounded seeing the actual interior and ambiance of the place. It was blindingly fancy. From the sparkly chandeliers, furniture and enticing aroma of foods. Busy waiters and waitresses, shuffling through customers and their orders. The type of place where well off people drop by for one pricey cup of coffee just because they can. She immediately felt the status gap sink in.

This is an interesting book with intriguing characters and premise. The author does well to draw the audience in and make them part of the story. The narrator feels very genuine, and I began to feel for him. Very well done.

"So have you stolen anything today?" "I stole a mug on the way in." Jovie stated. "Why do you steal? You're an heiress." "Remember that thing you said yesterday about comfort? I feel that when I steal something. It's like the world makes sense again." The feeling she was describing was kind of how I felt with her. I felt like I had known her my whole life and she was the only comfort I could feel. I don't even think gambling gave me this. "I've never met anyone like you," I blurted out.

I usually wouldn't read something so short, but I think you're my favorite author on here and the cover looked so wacky I HAD to give it a try! So glad I did! This story is so much fun! Reno and Jovie are so chaotic, it's amazing! Hoping to see this updated very very soon!

The plot's overused and it gets rather boring as the year's progress. Zale on the other hand, found them to be rather cute. He wanted to be like them. The Princes'. Imagine having to save a Princess from a fire-breathing dragon. Or from the clutches of an evil stepmother. The action that would take place in those storylines never fails to thrill him every single time. He'd also find himself fantasizing about slaying the dragon and saving you from a tower. No matter how many times he's imagined it, he can't help but giggle at himself at the thought of you sending him a kiss for his glorious act of bravery.

A picaresque novel is one of my favorite literary genres because it captures the raw, unfiltered adventures of a roguish protagonist navigating through society's underbelly. The term comes from the Spanish word 'picaro,' meaning rogue or rascal, and these stories often follow a low-born but clever hero who survives through wit and deception. Classics like 'Don Quixote' by Miguel de Cervantes and 'Lazarillo de Tormes' are quintessential examples, blending humor, satire, and social commentary.

What makes picaresque novels so engaging is their episodic structure—each chapter is a self-contained misadventure, yet they collectively paint a vivid picture of the protagonist's journey. The genre often critiques societal norms, exposing hypocrisy through the eyes of an outsider. Modern adaptations like 'The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn' by Mark Twain carry the same spirit, proving the genre's timeless appeal. If you enjoy stories with sharp wit and a dash of rebellion, picaresque novels are a must-read.
