Her fingers trembled as she touched the cold stone, and immediately, a rush of sensation flooded her. Light pulsed beneath her palm, warm and alive, searing through her nerves. Visions flickered behind her eyes—flames twisting into shapes, shadows writhing, creatures born of both darkness and fire.
Evelynn gasped, pulling her hand back. “It’s too much… I can’t—”
