Chapter 35: Trisha’s P.O.V: For an instant, the world stood still. I could feel the heat of the fire scorch my skin. I could hear Lucas’s voice as he yelled my name. Through my closed eyes, I could see the light that the flames cast in every direction. What I couldn’t feel however, was the excruciating pain that came with being burned alive by Damien’s fire.

What if it was true and not just some wild thought “Then I’ll pick you up jeez, you won’t even waste your car’s fuel” Rumors have it that if your blood is mutated, you get killed at night and your body is never found. I jumped up in fright after reading that, what if I’m mutated and I get killed “I’m having none of this” I whispered “Dude really?” I heard Sebastian grumble. I then remembered that I was speaking to someone on the phone “Uhm, you were saying?” I asked in an apologetic tone

A.N. – Thank you all for your dedication to Fire and Ice, the story from here on out will include chapters from the POV of both Roman and Amber, the next few chapters will be Ambers entirely as we get to know her better and finally learn all about what has been going on between her and the Beta, but don’t worry, we haven’t heard the last of Tristan and Cali just yet. Division 24 The man looked confused. "The deaths? It has been peaceful in this area." Beatrice frowned. "How so." She mumbled to see a figure leave the church through the other door close to a burner. "Ha! Something is burning." She said, and the father turned to have his eyes widened. They both walked to the pulpit of the church and behold a book was on the burner while the fiery fire burned. Father Jude had gone to bring water to quench the fire and when the fire that had been burning was quenched, Beatrice squinted her eyes to see that three of the books in the burner had burnt to ashes but one had not burned..not a single scratch on its body.

Next, the wings of the book were burning, but it didn't stop as it tried to still get away. “If only I hadn't given up my fire powers—it’s going to get away; she will get away!” Ruby yelled, and it was true as the book kept trying, then Blake and Dante finally got to her, and holding their hands, they opened their mouths, and fire came out of them, shooting straight to the book. I could hear the screams of my mother and other creatures; my head was spinning, and I couldn't take it anymore. I was about to fall to the ground, but someone held me back. I looked up and was shocked to see my wife smiling at me.

Nora asked. "Yeah, what about it?" Alice asked. "When my dad got to the scene, he found the car in flames and few officers were hurt," she said. Alice was shocked. "Jesus!" She screamed. "It's terrifying," Nora sighed. She decided to change the subject. "How are the boys? Are they awake?" She asked. Alice nodded, still trying to recover from her shock. "Let's go in then," Nora said and walked into the hospital. Alice dragged her feet lazily behind her. She was still immersed in her thoughts that she wasn't focused on her surroundings. She accidentally bumped into a man.

‘There’s a fire in the archive library! No response. I grab my bag in my mouth as I begin running towards the exit. I’m moving blindly. The fire is everywhere and I’m not certain if I’m even going in the right direction. I jump and weave my way through the fire when I finally see it. The exit! Yes! I drop my bag as I use my paws to try to open the door, but it doesn’t work. I flinch, feeling the fire burn my back. I shift back; the pain spasming through me before it disappears.

A surge goes through my body and I throw myself before the fire place, "Darius, no! wh-why, why did you throw the book into the fire!?" I watch helplessly as the book begins to burn. Taking a hasty move I stick my hand into the flames, trying to grab the book but the heat of the fire consumes my hands and I hiss in pain. Darius grabs onto me, hauling me away from the fire and into his arms. "Fuck, Audrey. What is wrong with you!? Why did you put your hand into the fire, do you not consider you will get burnt!?" My gaze is still fixated on the book as it chips away, the familiar pages folding in burns.

“You have no idea what I had to do to survive, Maya,” she said, her voice low and cold. “You have no idea what this world has turned me into.” I shook my head, my throat tightening. “Then tell me. Tell me what happened.” Chloe sighed, running a hand through her short, choppy hair. “After *The Burning*, I was trapped. The fires spread faster than anyone could’ve predicted, and I was caught in the middle of it. I tried to get to you, but… I couldn’t make it. I thought you were dead.”

I could see fire blazing above me, hear the screaming of those caught in the flames, as I continued to claw my way back to the surface. I am Ember’s only hope of survival. My mate needs me and I’m not going to let some elves bury me alive, leaving her to die. When the earth begins slowly closing beneath us, I push to the surface again, lifting my head in the air, trying to find her scent among the scent of fire, water, earth, and air, intermingled with burned flesh and blood. I hear a scream of agony a moment before we’re all blown off our feet by the strongest blast of fire I’ve ever seen or felt. I roll when I feel my fur burning, quickly extinguishing the fire on my body.
