Fallen for the Dark
My chest constricted.
“I… might be,” I replied, attempting casual confidence. My voice faltered. Every instinct screamed at me to step away, to run, to ignore him. But my body betrayed me. My feet felt rooted to the ground.
He smirked, that infuriating, confident smirk, the kind that made you want to punch him and kiss him at the same time. The rain clung to his hair and coat, giving him the look of a dark angel fallen into the city. My stomach twisted in ways I wasn’t prepared to admit.
