Her phone was disconnected, her bank accounts were frozen, and even her personal healer couldn’t reach her.
“Maybe she went back to her family’s territory,” his Beta, Ryan, guessed.
“Let her,” Julian said dismissively. “A traitor isn’t worth our time.”
But sometimes, late at night, he would feel a strange emptiness.
As if something important had left him forever.
One afternoon two months later, Ryan burst into his office.
“Alpha, we have a problem.”
“What is it?” Julian asked without looking up from his paperwork.
“The Southern Alpha Summit is next week. The other packs are asking when our Luna will be arriving.”
