Knox slapped my hand. "Ten minutes. Wait." I rolled my eyes. "You're disrespectful." He laughed before running back inside with Kole and a few others to grab more food. Keisha followed carrying several side dishes. I looked around the yard. "Damn... What a beautiful day." The DJ switched to softer music. People started gathering closer. Then Sienna grabbed the microphone. "Okay everybody! If I could have your attention!" Conversations slowly died down. "The food is almost ready. Just a few more trays. I first want to thank everybody for coming. This little barbecue is to welcome Miss Evelyn and the rest of Keisha's family from New York."

*Zac* The sun dips low on the horizon, casting hues of orange and pink across the sky as laughter and music spill out of our backyard. I glance around, soaking in the vibrant scene before me. The air is thick with the mouthwatering scent of Cukier’s famous barbecue, and I can already hear the sizzle of meat on the grill. “Is everything ready, Cukier?” I call out, catching a glimpse of my brother-in-law, his brow furrowed in concentration as he flips burgers and hot dogs with the finesse of a master chef.

Beta Liam "So, we're all agreed, yes?" Cal asks. "Yes!" chimes Jack. "Dam right!" I add. "Brilliant, I'll let Brooke know. Jack you can let Ashley know in advance if you'd like, we've got the BBQ tomorrow night so I'm thinking we do this the following day as Alpha Romero and his Luna Tiffany will be here along with Alpha Tito and they can witness the event!" Both Jack and I nod our agreement.

Mom and Dad set up a cooler of water, beer, and pop. Taking turns, we fix our plates soon after then scatter around the patio and poolside, gathering around tables and chairs. Sporadic conversations continue while we enjoy dinner. Dad commends Carson on the burgers and asks which seasoning he used. The two discuss the best flavors of seasonings and barbecue sauces. Luckily for me, the band is on their best behavior, and we enjoy hours with my family. “Time for gifts,” Mom announces.
