He buried his face in my hair, inhaling deeply to scrub the scent of the vampire from his nose. "I'm staying until Mathias gets back," Daxon mumbled into my neck. "And then we're going to have a very long talk about pest control." I looked over at Chloe, who was already passing out. I looked at the door. The war hadn't stopped. It had just moved to campus. And my boyfriend was currently occupying my twin XL bed like it was a throne. "Okay," I whispered, closing my eyes. "Stay."

“At least, I’m quite certain that you didn’t have any issues with his vampirism when you were taking his side only some hours ago!” “That’s different!” “What makes it different, Ryan?” I challenged him as I sauntered over to him. Isn’t that romantic?” I looked at him and glared. Without a seconr thought, I spat at him. It landed on his cheek. For a second, he was quiet and then he chuckled.

Tiernan whispered, and I swung my gaze back to him just as the twilight magic surged through me. While it was still tingling beneath my skin, I leaned toward Tiernan. His hands slid around my waist and pulled me closer as his lips laid over mine. I could feel the magic rising inside me; condensing beneath his hands. I opened my mouth to him and with the first touch of his tongue, the magic was released. Effervescently bright, it sparkled on my tongue like champagne and sparked between us like a live wire. Tiernan's arms jerked me tighter against him and, for a moment, I thought I was levitating, but then I realized that Tiernan had simply lifted me off the ground.

I roll my eyes. “Oh! I know! We should watch Twilight!” Ilayda says. “What part of ‘no romance’ didn’t you get Illy?” Adelina retorts. “Well, I don’t consider it a romance.” “Yes, it is. It’s about a sparkly fucking vampire that wants to mate with a human girl! Of course, it’s a romance!” I rub my temples, trying to head off the headache I knew was coming with Ilayda and Adelina’s bickering. I swear they are like water and oil when you get them together in the same room.
