I looked at Faye and smirked, raising the glass in my hand. "Indeed, toast yourself too. If the bond between Alexander and me dissolves, you won't have to live as my shadow or the so-called mistress any longer. If Alexander marks you completely after the bond dissolution, you will be the new Luna of the Crescent Moon. A round of applause, please!" This time, there was no applause from her.

My whole body suddenly felt lighter, like a weight that had been pressing down on me forever had finally been lifted. Before I left, he gave me one last warning. "On the night of the full moon, seven days from now, the connection will be completely severed. Until then, she can still draw a small amount of your luck, but it won't cause you any real harm."
