Part One: Eyes of the Wolf Jamie Dalton lifted the grocery bag filled with Halloween candy and took a moment to inhale the aroma drifting from it. For most people Christmas was their favorite holiday but Jamie had always loved Halloween. From the time she was nine years old she made up fanciful stories about the night, stories of goblins and ghosts and all manner of creatures. As she got older the stories became more intricate, the characters more detailed. By the time she was an adult she was weaving in erotic scenes and drooling over the heroines she created.

Lowering myself to her level, I held her shoulders gently and brushed a strand of hair from her face. “No,” I said softly. “No, honey. You just had a nightmare. That’s all.” She didn’t look convinced. “Mummy has no reason to hurt Daddy,” I added quickly. “I’ll be back soon. And guess what? We’re spending Christmas here with Grandma and Uncle Elliot.” Her face lit up instantly. “Yeah.” “I’m just going to get a few things for Christmas,” I said. “I’ll be back.” I turned away before she could ask anything else.

When Noah Levine came back, Christmas had already passed. I'd thrown that reindeer lingerie into a street trash bin. "Babe, I left in such a rush last night that I forgot to give you your Christmas present." He pulled out a sapphire necklace and swept my hair aside to fasten it around my neck. Because he leaned in so close, I could clearly see the red marks on his neck and smell the sickly sweet perfume that obviously wasn't his. Knowing the scent belonged to my own sister made my stomach turn.

She stares at each and everyone here that has been a part of her life while growing up. After dinner, everyone settle at the sofa and exchange gifts. They sip warm chocolate once more as each one shares their story about Christmas. Caspian and Bran enjoy listening to these stories of the holiday most especially about Santa and his elves. Later in the evening, the parents of Jo excuse themselves to leave but as usual, Jo stays behind.

) then I decided to tell her a fantasy parable to clarify my point: °°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°° "Long ago, at the North pole dwelt the children's Favorite person, Santa Claus. “Apparently, I can’t leave my restaurant unattended without chaos breaking loose.” He chuckled. “That’s because you run a tight ship.” She softened. “Maybe. But I don’t regret it. I’m glad we came home for Christmas. I needed that time.” “Me too!” Laya chimed in before yawning so wide her eyes watered. “Best Christmas ever.” She rubbed her face. “Daddy, can you tell me a bedtime story again tonight? The one about the brave princess?” Jordan nodded instantly. “Of course I can. Bath and PJs first, then Momma will bring you the phone. And tonight, that princess might get a dragon.”

III The night was dark, darker than any other night before. Iltiras walked down the lonely path, the darkness didn’t bother him. He was more than curious what will happen on this path in the middle of the night. Stories were told about power-eating demons and faeries that attack travelers around midnight. He wanted to see them for himself, or as he liked to say with eyes unclouded. No one really dared to walk the path alone; no one wanted to because of the trees and their long, dreadful shadows, which fell on them, that looked like men with bony fingers that ended with talons. The leaves in their bases were bloody red in color. His leg stepped on one of the piles that were in his way, he exp

She reckoned that if Alex was there with him, he would definitely pick the same book. The story revolved around a stuffed rabbit sewn from velveteen. It was given as a Christmas present to a small boy. The boy plays with his other new presents and forgets the velveteen rabbit for a time. These presents are modern and mechanical, and they snub the old-fashioned velveteen rabbit. The wisest and oldest toy in the nursery, the Skin Horse, which was owned by the boy's uncle, tells the rabbit about toys magically becoming real due to love from children. The rabbit is awed by this idea, however, his chances of achieving this wish are slight.

she asked smiling at him in the mirror. “Yep! And guess what! My friend Hailey said Santa is going to be at the library on Saturday. And there’s a parade, too. On Friday. At lunch today, Tommy was eating noodles, and one of them came through his nose. It was really gross. Dad was supposed to give me chocolate chip cookies in my lunch, but we must have been all out because there was a brownie instead.
