I wanted a mate who would compliment me, one I could fall in love with, and I thought I might just have found her. Callie and Keiran entered the kitchen. "Morning, everyone," said Callie brightly. "Morning, sunshine," replied Frederic. "Do you want some breakfast?" "Yes, please." "Do I get breakfast made, too?" asked Kieran. "I dunno, you're not as cute as her." Everyone laughed. "Fences are all secure, Alpha," said Kieran as he sat down to eat. "I have a couple of ideas." I was impressed with the ideas Kieran had. Electrifying the fence was previously discussed and agreed on, but adding a detection system to detect if intruders cut the fence or if a tree fell

The truth was he was beginning to realize how dangerous the camping was. They were going to be out in the forest that houses so many dangerous mythical creatures. The thought of that triggered fear but he felt relieved by reminding himself that the campers were guardians of the Fortress and they've been trained for situations worst than this. They could fight off any creature that came their way since they even seemed to have knowledge about the mythical creatures residing in the forest. Sneaking out of the building seemed very easy until Jared became aware of hidden cameras planted at every corner in the institution. He had not thought about why such a huge building with so many compartment

‘The safe room leads outside, somewhere, right? Alexa stops in her tracks and turns to face me. “The security in here is very tight, ma’am.” She points around, “there are invisible electric fences beyond these ones. And even beyond those ones are cable fence sensors, like the men call it. They detect any movement around the perimeter.” Murder me.

“Ok, you’re good to go, your permission has been confirmed. Follow the road ahead all the way past the housing area, and keep driving until you reach the pack house. You won’t miss it; the road ends there and loops back around. Someone will be waiting for you to escort you down to the training grounds. Damian is just about half-way through the afternoon exercises with the pups.” “Thank you very much,” Shay replied as she pulled her handbrake down and let her car slowly advance through the modern looking gates; they seemed just the kind of iron gates you’d find at a posh gated community in human suburbs, only much higher. The iron fence that stretched on both sides of the gates stood just abo

I replied to him "For a fence this long to have a consistent amount of power then it must be an AC fence energizer which could connect directly to the pack's electricity grid." "Yeah, that would be exactly where the power was turned off from. AC is not weatherproof. It needs to be protected from being damaged by nature. If we find the shelter then we find the place the power was turned off from." Eric says "Yeah, like an outbuilding… does anyone notice a shed, barn, or any small building standing alone?..." I ask since I didn't see any while we were running. By the way, they all look at me, they don't have to say what is on their minds. I can read, 'You must have been blind not to see any' o

CHAPTER 251 ~3RD PERSON'S POV~ Steven and Derren snuck through the tall grasses toward the tall fence that surrounded the black building. The fence was made of thick, dark gray copper wires that were tangled around each other to create a large mesh. During the night, this fence was super charged with electric current to prevent unwanted guests from breaking in, but for some reason, it wasn't on tonight, probably because of the arrival of the black car that had just driven in.

She took little joy in cooking, was hopeless at flower arrangements, and was less than useless when it came to practicing medicine, but from planting to harvest she excelled. Prairie Rose was taken aback at the way the chain link fence continued on, those rolls of gleaming, razor sharp barbed wire glistening sinisterly in the moonlight. Was the whole of their land fenced? Likely only their living areas, food, water, and ceremonial places would be fenced to keep them safe from intruders of all sorts and attackers alike.

"Lucian, what buttons did you push? Wait. Is… Is that remote real?" They stared, terrified, as the electric fence gates unlocked with a heavy thunk. One opened, then another, until a dozen or so predator enclosures snapped open on their own.

Watched. “Motion sensors,” Evan murmured, gesturing toward tiny units attached to trees in a grid pattern. “But they’re out to get people, they’re looking outward, they want to catch people coming from the road.” ______ "So we went in through the back," Jace said grimly good-humoredly. The fence was twelve foot high, but Jace and Asher quickly found a place where the earth dipped down, giving us just enough room to squeeze under. My jacket became caught on the wire and I heard the sound of fabric tearing, but I made it through.

I had wanted to do worse than that. Part of me still did. The familiar road unwound ahead of me past scattered houses, past the last stretch of pavement until the asphalt gave way to gravel and the trees pressed in close on either side. I couldn't breathe. Not really. Not until I saw it: the metal fence cutting across the landscape up ahead, solid and unapologetic against the tree line. I'd built that fence at eighteen. One of the first things I did once my mother's money landed in my hands not on something flashy or foolish, but on that. Protection. Distance. Control.
