It was all still there. The file sat inside a folder I had named Q3 Vendor Review. It looked completely boring, nobody would ever open it. The whole directory was built that way on purpose, with dry names and a plain structure, but inside that folder was eighteen months of my life.

I frowned slightly, clicking again, slower this time, my brows knitting just a fraction as nothing happened. “…What?” I whispered, my fingers pausing for just a second before trying again, this time right-clicking, selecting open, my movements becoming more deliberate. My stomach tightened slightly. “No…” I shook my head once, quickly, as I refreshed the page, my fingers moving faster now, opening the folder again, scanning through it more carefully this time. The file was there, but it wasn’t. The name remained. The size showed zero. Zero. My breath stilled for a second.
