He hadn’t seen his brother in over six months, but Elijah still looked the same—neat, polished, stupidly likable. “You came,” Elijah said, smiling. “Don’t sound so surprised.” Dante chuckled, gently peeling Eloise off him. “I am surprised. I was starting to think something happened.” She exhaled. “So,” she continued, “have you seen your grumpy brother yet?” My fingers tightened around the phone. “No,” I said. “I wouldn’t expect him to leave work just to come get me.”

I start my car. “Well?” “I’ve searched everywhere I think he could’ve gone. Relatives, old friends, old apartments, but I didn’t find anything.” I let out a heavy breath, as I speed out of the parking lot, about to rain down on him, but he keeps talking. “I did find something unusual.” “What do you mean?” “No one, Don, not even those who know the brother well knows he’s a twin.” My brows furrow, my head tilting to the side.

No. Not now. Please. Standing, I lean over the picnic table and look for my brother. No sign of him. I head toward the bookstore. Its a few hundred yards, but it feels like miles. I don’t look back to see if she is following me. I just keep my head forward and quicken my step.

"Yes, Luna?" "I need you to do something for me. Something important." I took a steadying breath. "I want you to find my brother. The surviving twin. He was sent away after Felix died." Rosie's eyes widened slightly, but she nodded. "I'll make inquiries immediately, Luna." "Be discreet. I don't want my father or stepmother knowing I'm looking for him." "I understand." She hesitated. I mean he could be anywhere in the world you know, any country or state, how do you want to find him?", he asked. I sighed, "I don't know, I don't even know what to do. But I think I should, It would mean a lot to me if I find out I have a sibling out there, at least I know I'm not alone ".
