I just stood there, frozen, watching the life I thought I had built, shatter into a million pieces. Finally, I found my voice, though it was jagged and weak. “Jeff?”

I said, finding my voice, which sounded too weak. “A video of you surfaced yesterday, and since then, it has brought your image into question,” she said. Her voice was clear and firm, but her eyes were warm and pleading with me. It was too much. More than anything, I did not like pity or shame, and now I seemed to be getting enough of both.

’ A voice speaks in my mind. I jump in my spot and look around. My hands drop by my side as I search for the voice. ‘ It’s me. ’ The voice yawns, sounding tired. It’s in my fucking…head. What the fuck?!

I just hoped she's not going to storm in here and confront me with whatever I've done wrong. Unless she knows that I swallowed some siren's tongue to make my voice sound incredible. Whenever I start talking, it's still my natural voice. But when I opened my mouth to sing, I heard someone's inside me. I've flicked through my social media, and I found myself throughout everyone's pages. I was overwhelmed by delightful and encouraging messages I've read with a lot of hearts.

Peach opened his eyes and wandered the surroundings. "Who are you?" and "Where am I?" asked Peach, his eyes roaming the vast surface looking for the owner of the mysterious voice. "You don't have to know who I am; I heard your heart's greatest desire and prayers. Do you truly want to be with him again?" asked the mysterious voice echoing from the vastness of nowhere.

My voice came out low, certain, heavy. “I think I’ve found mine.”

Eventually, Tess and Jack could not take it anymore and called Maddox. He came and coaxed me until I told him everything. In my memory, that was the first time I had cried so miserably. I did not want to be a nasty person. But I also hated doing whatever I was doing/not-doing to be a good person.
